Well, after nearly five months of telling myself that my resources and desire to get this achilles horse-sh*t healed would be more than enough, I’m finally admitting defeat.

I called last Thursday and made an appointment at the SLV Foot & Ankle Clinc. My main hope is that the doc will take into account everything I tell him about the remedies I’ve already tried and put me on the fast-track to finding out exactly what the extent of the injury is with an MRI. The length and persistence of this thing has got me unfortunately pretty sure that this is the worst-case situation: a tear.

Who knows? Maybe I’m wrong - I’m not a doctor so that’s certainly possible. At this hope, I’m just praying that whatever the diagnosis from the doc that I won’t be too pissed off by the doctor’s suggestion…that’s pretty reasonable, right?

On the bright side, at least my mind was taken off things for the weekend. Went up to the Rockies game and sat in the cold rain for a few hours, and then went hiking/playing in the snow near Conejos Peak Sunday morning before engaging in a Sunday Funday evening that included brats and sausage on the grill, key lime pie and “The Game of Things.” An excellent weekend by any measure.
