I’ve had the pleasure since moving to Alamosa of becoming friends with the people at the core of the Vineyard of the Rio Grande, and it’s been an incredible honor to get to know them. Even though my work schedule has largely prevented me from getting to join them on weekend outings, I sit at my desk anxiously awaiting Thursday night cookouts. It amazes the sincerity my relationships with them are considering that I’ve only been able to see them once a week (at most) for the past few months.

I have always tried to adhere to the quote that “You are defined not by what you do, but by the relationships you keep.” I don’t know the original source, but I know I got it from the Disney made for TV movie “Brink.” Let’s just say that developing a relationship with Scott Sailors and the rest of the Thursday night cookout group has had an immensely positive impact.
