another month
Well… following another attempt at some easy running, it seems that the only way I’m going to alleviate myself of these achilles woes is to really consign myself to some time off.
I did end up making it through 3 pain-free miles on the track Saturday, with the venue dictated by the fact that I would be able to call it a day at any moment if need be without having to walk a long...
this is your brain on ??????
I’d say this picture is a pretty accurate representation of what my brain function has been like the last few days.
Now, I don’t want to go as far as to blame this on not being able to run on account of a sore achilles, other than to say that being unable to run has kept me inside (on the elliptical, in the pool) during lunch breaks rather than outside logging some easy mileage. So,...
thoughts on URoY
I’ve become pretty good at not caring that no one really cares about my thoughts on things like a burrito at a restuarant they’ll never go visit or about a long run I went on in the mountains while in the midst of a 36-hour hangover, and I write about them anyway. So I’m going to continue suspending any sort of concern about whether or not anyone wants to know my thoughts and...
best burrito ever
One thing that I’ve definitely come to love about Alamosa is that there are a lot of good places to eat that you won’t find all over the place (you know, like McDonald’s, Burger King, etc.). Certainly, there are times and places when chain fast-food joints are good, mainly Taco Bell, and I certainly def love me some Subway every now and then. And while just about every major...
another run bites the dust
Continuing with the trend as of late, another one of the things I was really looking forward to running-wise for the first half of 2011 has officially been wiped from the books. Fortunately, there’s a bit less frustration here than there was with the plans that have dismissed due to tacked on work obligations.
So it is with only a very small amount of sadness that I won’t be heading...
a very valley day
Living in the San Luis Valley there are some places that you just seem to hear in conversation a lot. While they may not be HUGE tourist attractions that you can plan a whole day around, they certainly are some pretty cool attractions and things that can make for a fun day of activities.
So, after staying in the office ‘til 4:30 a.m. Sunday morning, making for a 13-hour workday Saturday...
back to a schedule
Though I totally loved my time back with family and seeing old friends over the holidays in Naper-thrill, it is kind of nice to be back in a place where I have a routine. As much as work can be toally mind-numbingly boring some days, and as much as my work schedule may royally suck, at least I won’t be haning around a full and sweet-filled pantry again anytime soon…at lest I hope not.

the big thing
There were a lot of great things about 2011 for me, both concerning my running and concerning the rest of my life. But, I’m excited enough about what 2011 may hold that I don’t feel like taking too much more a look back at the last 12 months.
So, in a quick breath…
My favorite running act of the year was probably all the running related things involved with moving to Colorado....
